I would not mind having a midwife for kid #2 (whenever that is, this is not an announcement). Having had a c-section though I think I should probably at least deliver in a hospital even if I try a VBAC. THere is a midwife at Baylor Hosp. though and I plan to meet with her to talk about the whole VBAC thing before we try for #2.

Btw, I assume Alisa has helped you find a midwife for when you move. . . But if not, I know one in the DFW area. . .

Thanks for putting me back in touch w/ Alisa! We knew each other in high school--and she was in her midwifery training even then. I remember one of the birth videos she showed me. . . years later I realized it was done by Veronica Wagner, my midwife for #2!

Alisa went above and beyond when we were expecting #3. I appreciate her professionally and personally. *mush, mush*

I wish I could meet Alisa but I kind of feel like I already know her from the stories Shannon has told me about her along with what she has learned from Alisa during her checkups. For a mom to be able to share her excitement, concerns and questions with someone who is “truly concerned” and very knowledgeable about what is best for each individual mom, dad, baby and the rest of the family does sound like a treat and a blessing to me. These weeks are flying by and peanut is going to be here before we know it!!!!

I'd like to say a HUGE thank you to Alisa as well. She has been great. I have been fortunate enough to be around for most of the appointments, and I agree with Shannon that having a midwife has been a real blessing. There is no way I would want to do this baby thing any other way.

Well, I'd rather be celebrating Midwives Day on May 5th than Buddha's Birthday, which is traditionally celebrated on the eighth day of the fourth month in the Chinese calendar... thus being May 5th this year.

The Korean "Kid's Day" Holiday also fell on the 5th. (Yay! No school for me!) And, with Cinco de Mayo on the same day as well, sounds like it is a popular day for celebrations.

Haha, I'd like to see this shyness act the kids put on.
