I wish I had a picture of the smile on Shannon's face when she showed me the text message and took me into the reading cave to see the surprise behind "The Cat in the Hat." FINALLY, an explanation to the lack of communication from George. We were both confused because that is not like him. I had tried to come up with several explanations like maybe his cell phone was down (he had not taken a charger) or maybe the cell phone couldn't get out. We both knew they were working very, very hard during the day but were surprised that he had gone several days without contacting her. This hidden surprise was so sweet George! I was impressed! (just a bummer that your text message didn't get delivered to Shannon when it was supposed to!)

Ahh, finally, I've been waiting for this one. The one where I don't look like a bad husband that forgot to call to say happy mother's day. The whole cell phone situation was quite frustrating. I received all the messages that Shannon sent to me, but she only received about 10% of the ones I sent. Even when I called her, we were never able to connect, and I had to just leave voice mails (and pay $2 per minute for those).

Oh well, next time I go to El Salvador, I'm taking my lovely wife with me.
