Going back to El Salvador

posted November 10th, 2008 by George

Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to go to El Salvador with a team from Mosaic. Our hope was to help a community of people who are drinking dirty, contaminated water. We were able to work at a school, meet lots of children and teachers, and dig a 100 foot water well that will produce clean, safe water for many years to come.

Here’s short video about that trip:

This weekend we’re going back. But this time Shannon and I are both on the team. I’m really excited that we will be together on this trip. We have a lot of work to do this week to finish getting ready. I will be taking my laptop, and there is a chance we will have some limited internet access while we’re there. You can check back here for updates throughout the week or at the following blog set up by one of our other team members. http://teamlivingwater08.blogspot.com/

  1. I had not seen that video. It does a great job of telling the story of how the well is dug. I am thankful I have heard your explanations of what is actually happening in many of those pics. We are praying for you and I am very anxious to hear your and Shannon’s stories when you return on the 22nd. Great ministry that blesses so many lives!

  2. I am glad that pictures of the young women were included in the video. I had a hard time picturing Shannon involved in such a job! Now, I understand.

that video reminds me of why we do what we do here at Mosaic. thanks for being such a vital part of this community. big thanks to you, your wife and your kids for sacrificing so much to go back there this weekend.

it’s going to be a great week! i will be staying tuned in to this blog. update regularly bro…while you peer out across the beautiful pacific ocean! 🙂

  4. @Gran :: Yea, I thought that I has posted this video after returning from the trip last May, but I guess I never did. I was intending on putting together my own video with a combination of pictures and video clips I shot, but just never got that finished. Thanks for the prayers; we truly appreciate it.

@Granny BJ :: I’m really glad that this helped you see what we’ll be doing there. Most of the work does not require great strength. The team mainly has to be willing to get really dirty. Of course there are opportunities to talk to the local people and having women on our team really helps to open many door with the women of the village.

@Stephen :: Thanks for your encouragement. Wish you could be going back with us this time.
